Did You Know?

• Green drinks (such as green tea) made from aquatic plants, such as spirulina, seaweed and kelp, nourish, detoxify and support the lymphatic system, blood, tissue, and thyroid.

• Lemon and water eliminate toxins and keep you hydrated. When your lips are chapped it is your body telling you to drink more liquid, not get chap-stick.

• Color in your eyes represents antioxidant defenses from ultraviolet sunlight. Pigment absorbs the rays and renders them harmless. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are carotenoids, which come from carrots and tomatoes (lycopene) it’s what gives them their color. They are also found in spinach, collard greens, honeydew melons, green beans, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, and egg yolks. Broccoli has one added protector called Sulphoraphane for better sight and it is an antioxidant. It helps keep out free radicals which are destructive to body tissues.

• Jensen (1993) suggests eating raw garlic to purify the blood. It also helps with diabetes and circulation problems.

• Oranges and lemons are a great source of vitamin C. They help the immune system and complications of diabetes, two to three times a day.

• Vitamin B12, taken sublingually or by injection (cannot be taken by swallowing a pill) is good for people needing energy.
